How to install SCSI Disk with an external driver

- Download the SCSI Storage Controller  driver

- Follow the manufacturer's steps in compiling the driver (generating .ko - kernel module)

- Install the kernel module (driver) to the /usr/module/`uname -r`/...

- create the initrd or initramfs
  •   (mkinitrd --with=scsi_mod --with=sd_mod --with=[the driver]  /boot/initrd.img  [kernel version])
  •   ([the driver] is the driver name without the '.ko' extension)
  •   ([kernel version] is the result of `uname -r` or where the driver is installed -- /lib/modules/[kernel version]/)

- Update grub.conf
